Halloween Happenings
Whew. Busy Halloween. I went to Laurel's school and helped with the party. I made a Halloween feel box and filled it with ghost guts (spaghetti), witch skin (an oiled tortilla), vampire eyeballs (peeled grapes), and mummy ears (dried apricots). The kids loved it. The principal said my choices were 'very representative.' Awesome.
Here are some Halloween pictures:
These are the jack-o'-lanterns. We have a 7-legged spider (Laurel's carving) chasing an owl (Greg's):
And here we have the kids in costume. Laurel was Harriet (Harry) Potter and Ethan was a pirate:
Ethan is still sporting his mustache and goatee. We found that washable marker was too easy for him to rub off and mascara didn't look right, so we had to use a felt-tip pen. Laurel got lots of candy and Ethan got lots of compliments. He grew tired of his stroller pirate ship and decided to walk himself while trick-or-treating. Greg and I managed to sort of control ourselves around all the sugar -- and that, my friends, is the greatest triumph of all!
