Happy New Year!

More about our festivities later.

We keep this blog as a chronicle of the small stuff -- those things you always wish you'd written down somewhere so you'll remember them someday.  It includes things our kids do and say, trips we take, people we encounter, and situations that serve to brighten up or lend quirkiness to the day-to-day tedium that sometimes threatens to overtake us.

2007 was a very good year for us.  We tried dim sum for the first time.  I locked Vinnie in the car twice.  I let Greg cut through the driveway with power tools. We visited Memphis. We didn't get salmonella from our contaminated jar of peanut butter.  Laurel was accepted to PEGS. I went back to college.  We went to San Francisco with a toddler for a travel companion.  We built a ginormous patio and retaining wall without filing for divorce.  I went back to work, meaning I can't blog as often as I'd like.  Laurel and I bonded while raising cash for Old Newsboys Day.  We laughed more than we cried.

We have our health, and our family and friends have theirs, too.  If only we could see them more often.

Yes, 2007 was very good to us -- and I have high hopes for 2008.
