Millions of Peaches.
Yesterday we made our nearly-annual pilgrimage to Eckerts for peaches.
Ethan was thrilled with the promise of a ride on a tractor-drawn wagon, and watched the tractor the entire trip out to the fields:
Laurel, spoiled by a weekend at Grandma's, determined on the way to the fields that the empty box she held was just too much for her, and asked us to hold it:
While Laurel picked a few carefully-selected peaches, I filled our other box and Ethan enjoyed the biggest perk of produce-pickin':
And when we came home, we took these:
And made these:
Well, not the jars of salsa -- those were also canned yesterday, but those are from our garden tomatoes and jalapenos. YUM! We canned 4 pints of peaches and 4 pints of salsa. We have more peaches in the box but they weren't quite ripe enough for canning, in my opinion -- I'll probably be canning again in a day or two.
