The Camping Queen.
After all the excitement (ahem) of last week, we took Laurel to sleep-away camp for some relaxation.
This is the 3rd year she’s been – often when I tell someone she’s going to sleep-away camp I’m met with disbelief. They can’t believe that she doesn’t get homesick (not only does she not get homesick, she shoos us out of the cabin at the first opportunity).
This year, I don’t know, maybe she seemed a little more nervous. She was attending a different camp from years past but we think it will be at least as much fun if not more.
Naturally, it stormed on us much of the way to camp, but the clouds were pretty:
By the time we got to camp, it was sunny and steamy, check-in was relatively painless – if noisy – and Laurel got her coveted top bunk…
…and even took time out of her day to pose with her mother (who rarely wears makeup these days and it shows) – ha!
Somehow I know she’ll have a great time and come home with stories to tell along with a camera full of memories.
