Let it be known:

1.  I like teachers.  I have teachers for friends and teachers in my family.  They're good teachers, they are!  I know it's a struggle to teach other people's kids, but I also know that my kids aren't the worst they have or will encounter, so if they spend all their time complaining about all the kids, well, that's a problem.

2.  I have worked for law firms representing teachers.  See?  I like teachers!  I liked my work and I like teachers.  So don't send me any hate mail.  I just think we need more teachers who suck it up and live with their chosen profession.  I don't go to the bank and have tellers complaining to me about my kids' savings.  Okay, well, sometimes I do, but they're CRAPPY TELLERS.  See?

3.  My biggest beef is that too often, parents hear what their kid is doing WRONG instead of what their kid is doing RIGHT.  And here's the thing -- in the past, my kids have had some great teachers.  They've had teachers who 'get it' and aren't out to nitpick everything.  They've had teachers who totally understand how creativity tends to manifest itself in some quirky, unusual ways.

Right on. I had issues today with a sitter and the negative talking. Sometimes you just have to think like a toddler and use their little system to your advantage. Why is it that many adults think like toddlers ONLY when it is inappropriate to do so?
