So it's Like This...
I know. I've been neglecting this. Again.
But!
I have my reasons. Several of them, in fact:
1. Independence Day. It was a holiday, after all. Ethan stayed up until 10 p.m. Laurel had soot all over her face by the time we finished festivities, and I was covered in mosquito bites. Really, my legs look like I had a bad trip down the Amazon. Anyway, the good news is I learned how to take good photos of fireworks:
2. Work. I've been running crazy to try to revamp an entire inventory system. Greg has volunteered an enormous amount of his personal time (what little he has) to this monumental task, for which the powers-that-be are very grateful. I'm grateful too, but it's nothing less than I expected from him. He's a giver.
3. Camp. Laurel is at sleep-away camp this week. We dropped her off Sunday afternoon and she could. not. wait. for us to leave. In fact, we had barely gotten her bed made when she said, 'Okay, bye!' Caught off guard, I said, 'Oh! Are you ready for us to leave?' Laurel said, 'Yes. Not to offend you or anything.'
'I'm not offended at all,' I said. 'Remember, I encouraged you not to miss us.'
So it goes.
4. We put an offer on a house. Now the real drama comes in: Will inspections work out? Will we walk away? Will everything go well?
Stay tuned.
